Since the lockdown was announced on Saturday there has been a lack of clarity around what the statement 'the housing market will remain open' actually means. Initially it was confirmed that house moves could continue to go ahead but we have been left wondering whether or not estate agent's offices could stay open and if viewings and valuations could still go ahead.
Despite several agents jumping to unsubstantiated conclusions, we have chosen to keep quiet on the subject until this evening and following a statement just issued from the Government and made directly to the industry we are happy to confirm the following:
"Buying, selling and renting a home can continue, in a COVID-secure way, as it has in recent months. Estate and letting agents can operate, show homes and sales suites can remain open and property viewings, mortgage valuations and surveys can take place."
It goes without saying that everyone involved must continue to adhere to the guidance that we have been following from the beginning, but the good news is that it's business as normal - well, the new normal at least!
So give us a call on 01299 402392 or drop us an email to email@example.com and get those viewings and valuations booked in.
